In the Night Garden Live is an incredible new live show bringing In the Night Garden to life in a fantastic musical theatre experience for the whole family. The all-new In the Night Garden Live show opens on 17th July 2010 at Sefton Park in Liverpool for the 2 weeks, then the show moves on to locations in London and Glasgow in August and September respectively. There is also one further location that is yet to be announced.

In the Night Garden Live has been produced in a huge inflatable theatre that can be erected on site, comprising two extraordinary, state-of-the-art show domes that will allow a realistic recreation of the magical world of the immensely popular In the Night Garden television show.

The much loved In the Night Garden characters, Igglepiggle, Upsy Daisy and Makka Pakka have never been seen before in a live show, coming to life using full-size costumes, captivating music, magical puppets and amazing panoramic projections. In the Night Garden has quickly become one of the most popular childrens TV shows achieving world-wide success, and In the Night Garden Live is sure to carry on that success with a truly immersive theatrical experience allowing the audience to feel like they are really part of the magic world of In the Night Garden. One key factor in the creation of the In the Night Garden Live is that the high quality and production values of the television series will be matched in the live show, young children across the UK will be in for a treat.

The In the Night Garden Live tour will kick off on 17th July 2010 at Sefton Park in Liverpool where it will stay with 5 shows a day, with each show lasting approximately an hour, until 1st August before moving to three other locations including London, Glasgow and a final venue yet to be announced.

Even though the show is in an inflatable dome, In the Night Garden Live will have all the facilities of a normal theatre– including box office and catering points. These facilities will be specially designed to be family-friendly with buggy parks, toilets, baby changing areas and microwaves to heat up baby food.

Families will have the choice of two shows, each with a different story, during the run; up to five performances a day to suit every family’s schedule; and a highly competitive ticket-pricing scheme.

In the Night Garden in one of the most popular childrenâ€™s tv shows in recent years, catching the imagination of young children all over the place with half a million viewers for every episode. In the Night Garden toys are selling fast, with frequent shortages of many In the Night Garden toys. A major gap in the Night Garden toys range is the lack of Tombliboos toys. In the Night Garden Wins BAFTA Award

In the Night Garden has been recognised by the British Academy of Film & Television, by winning the BAFTA award for Best Pre-School Live Action Programme 2007.

Anne Wood, founder and creative director of Ragdoll Productions, the makers of In the Night Garden, said:

In the Night Garden Toys Selling Well

In the Night Garden toys have boosted toy sales for the BBC. Sales of In the Night Garden toys totalled Â£10.8 million between August and December 2007, according to figures released by NPD.

Gill Pritchard, the director of childrenâ€™s for BBC Worldwide is more than happy with the sales of In the Night Garden toys, saying:

2007 was a great year for us, boosted mainly by the runaway success of In the Night Garden.

These figures are fantastic to see especially given the fact that we only launched In the Night Garden toys in the summer – In the Night Garden has really captured the imaginative consciousness of parents and pre-schoolers.

Our focus now will be on developing the longevity of the In the Night Garden brand – Teletubbies is still a huge hit for us 10 years on so we want to ensure we’re looking at a long-term strategy for Night Garden from the outset.
